The Best Immunity and Wellness Juice Shot
Turmeric, ginger, lemon juice combine together in these "juice shots" to help provide you with immunity-boosting and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Anytime I travel or feel any sense that I might be under-the-weather or not feeling 100%, I typically grab a few of the pre-made immunity juice shots from the grocery store. But, after re-kindling my love with both my juice AND Costco, I realized I could make a big batch of these and just incorporate them into my daily routine, especially in the cold, winter months.
The thing I love the most about these shots (and the premade ones) is the spice kick from the ginger that tingles the back of your throat, and the way that the pepper, garlic, and lemon juice create this clearing out in the mouth / ears / nose / throat.
The juice shots mix together the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric, anti-bacterial properties of raw garlic, and digestion-boosting garlic.
This recipe makes quite a bit of juice, so if you don’t think you’ll get through the juice shots fast enough, just place half of the juice in a freezer-safe container to use the following week.
You can also freeze them into ice cube trays and pop them into a glass of sparkling water.
Let’s get to juicin’.
How to Homemade Immunity and Wellness Juice Shots
NOTE: You will want a juicer for this (I have the Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer). I have not tried the recipe with a Vitamix-style blender, which you might be able to use, but I cannot vouch for how it turns out. You’d likely also need a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth to strain out some of the fiber (especially from the ginger and turmeric).
Start by gathering all of the ingredients and set up your juicer.
In a large pitcher or container, add the honey and black pepper.
Quarter your lemons and apple (this will make it easier to put into the juicer).
Turn your juicer on. Slowly add a handful of the produce ingredients at a time. Continue adding until you have juiced the lemons, ginger, turmeric, garlic, and apple.
Pour the juice into the container / pitcher with the honey and black pepper. Stir the mixture until the honey and pepper are well combined.
Pour 2-3 oz into a glass and shoot it down. You’re welcome to sip, but it’s probably better to just go for it 😉

Recipe Notes
Lemons
You do not need to peel the lemons before juicing them (unless your juicer brand recommends it). Lemon peels can add a bitterness to the juice, which I don’t mind, but if you’d prefer a little less bitterness, feel free to peel first.
Storage
If the full 32 oz is too much juice for 4-5 days, you can freeze half the batch in a freezer safe container so you have juice ready for next week (just remember to pull it out of the freezer 1-2 days in advance to thaw).
Additionally, you could store the juice in an ice cube tray and pop a few into a glass with sparkling water for an immunity-inspired cocktail.
Juicer vs. Blender
I highly recommend you use a juicer for this. You could probably get away with a high-speed blender like a Vitamix, but I have not personally tested nor can I vouch for using one with this recipe. If that’s all you got, then in that case, here are some recommendations:
Absolutely peel your lemons. In fact, peel your apple, too.
Use a fine mesh sieve or cheese cloth to strain the juice before pouring it into the airtight container.
